Andy and Laura celebrated their wedding day in one of Oxford’s most unique wedding venues, Malmaison Oxford. Set within a beautifully converted Victorian prison, the venue combines historic character with modern luxury, creating an unforgettable backdrop for a truly special celebration. The hotel’s fascinating prison heritage adds a unique atmosphere that guests never forget.
Chris Mayhew DJ was delighted to provide the music throughout the entire day, including the ceremony music, wedding breakfast entertainment, and evening reception, ensuring every moment had the perfect soundtrack.
The day began with beautiful ceremony music as family and friends gathered to witness Andy and Laura say “I do” within the remarkable surroundings of the former prison. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast while carefully selected background music created the perfect atmosphere for conversation, laughter, and celebration.
As the evening guests arrived, anticipation built for the couple’s first dance. Andy and Laura took to the dance floor to “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias, sharing a touching and romantic moment surrounded by their loved ones.
As the final notes of their first dance faded, the atmosphere instantly shifted into full party mode with “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. The dance floor quickly filled as guests joined the newly-weds to celebrate, setting the tone for an incredible night ahead.
The evening featured an energetic mix of 90s and 00s dance floor favourites, with plenty of classic 80s hits sprinkled throughout the night. From sing-along anthems to feel-good party classics, guests of all ages packed the dance floor and kept the party going until the very end.
A special mention must also go to the talented photographer, Alison Parker Photography, who beautifully captured every moment of the day. From the emotional ceremony to the packed dance floor celebrations, Alison’s relaxed and natural style perfectly documented the atmosphere of Andy and Laura’s wedding.
The unique surroundings of Malmaison Oxford, combined with a fantastic crowd, brilliant music, and a wonderful couple, made for an unforgettable wedding celebration.
